Rich currently serves as the US-East Region Managing Partner and is a member of the Americas Operating Executive and United States Executive boards at EY. In this role, he leads more than 12,000 professionals across all business units in more than 20 offices stretching from Boston to Richmond. He has also served on the firm’s Global Advisory Council and currently is the Americas Executive Sponsor for the firm’s LGBT+ professional network, Unity.

Prior to his current role as the US-East Region Managing Partner, Rich served as the Americas Vice Chair of the Strategy and Transactions (SaT) practice, where he led more than 3,600 professionals in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Israel. During his five-year tenure in this role, Americas SaT grew by more than 125% and became the most profitable business unit in EY Global. Additionally, under his leadership the Americas SaT practice more than doubled revenue in five years, achieved number one status for market share and brand, attracted top industry talent and reshaped the learning curriculum to become world class.


Rich has more than 36 years of transaction experience with both private and public companies, advising on mergers and acquisitions for corporations and financial buyers; public company spinoffs; initial public offerings; and securities offerings. His expertise encompasses all aspects of a client’s capital strategy — preserving, optimizing, raising and investing. In a previous position, Rich served as the Mid-Atlantic Managing Partner of Assurance and Advisory Business Services where he practiced as an audit partner for 25 years

Rich is recognized as a thought leader, is frequently quoted in top tier media outlets and has a strong following on social media. As an active ally for the LGBT+ community, Rich has advocated on Capitol Hill, was a recipient of The Trevor Project 20/20 Visionary Award and was recently named one of Financial Times OUTstanding 50 Top Ally Executives
